13 October 2025: one body, new name. The Ethics and Integrity Commission replaced the Committee on Standards in Public Life on 13 October 2025, when the Prime Minister issued its terms of reference. The Commission describes itself as established by strengthening and reforming the Committee, and its implementation plan sets out an 18 to 24 month transition. Its remit widens to an annual report to the Prime Minister on the health of standards in public life and advice to public authorities on codes of conduct. It remains an advisory body that reports to the Prime Minister and is not a regulator. Reports dated before 13 October 2025 are the Committee's; later reports are the Commission's. This source holds both. EIC: our remit ↗ · GOV.UK: Ethics and Integrity Commission ↗
