Ms A complained about the way the Vale of Glamorgan Council removed her children and the subsequent care arrangements it put in place.

The Ombudsman decided that whilst the Council had carried out a Stage 2 investigation, the findings of which it had accepted in full, it had not completed one of the recommendations made by the Independent Investigator. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement that it would write to Ms A addressing the outstanding recommendation.
