Full decision

Mr M complained that Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board had not clarified his diagnosis following an operation in November 2019 and that he had been given contradicting information.

The Ombudsman considered the information Mr M had received following his operation and found that he had at no point had an opportunity to discuss the operation with the Surgeon involved or to discuss the histology outcome of the adenoma that was removed.

The Ombudsman, therefore, suggested a settlement whereby the Health Board arranged a meeting between Mr M, the Surgeon and a Histopathologist. The Health Board agreed to the proposal and the Ombudsman considered the matter settled.
