Full decision

Ms A complained that the Health Board had repeatedly misdiagnosed her in relation to lichen sclerosus (a skin condition).

The Ombudsman found that whilst Ms A had complained to the Health Board, it had not provided a full and final complaint response about the diagnosis of lichen sclerosus and the treatment it had or had not provided to Ms A.

The Ombudsman therefore contacted the Health Board and it agreed to complete the following actions by 26 October 2022 in settlement of Ms A’s complaint and as an alternative to an investigation: a) Apologise to Ms A for failing to provide a response regarding lichen sclerosus sooner.

b) Provide the complaint response.

c) Offer Ms A £100 for her time and trouble in making the complaint.
