Full decision

Mrs A complained, through her Community Health Council Advocate about the care provided to her late husband shorty before he sadly died. Mrs A complained to the Health Board in July 2021 about the care provided earlier that year. Mrs A was dissatisfied with the Health Board’s response, provided in October 2021, and set out her additional concerns to the Health Board through her Advocate. The Health Board agreed to provide a further response to those outstanding concerns. However, as there was a delay on the part of the Health Board in providing that further response, Mrs A complained to this office.

The assessment found that the Health Board had failed to provide Mrs A with the agreed further response. To resolve the complaint, the Health Board agreed to provide Mrs A with the response to her outstanding concerns within 2 months.
