Mr X complained that a Council vehicle attempted to force him off the road. A Council Officer was going to look into the incident but did not report back to him the outcome.
The Council acknowledged to the Ombudsman that whilst its findings were explained in a telephone conversation, they were not set out in writing. It has therefore agreed to issue a written response along with its apologies for failing to do so sooner to Mr X by 17 December. The Ombudsman considered this to be sufficient as an alternative to an investigation into the handling of Mr X’s complaint.
