Full decision

Ms A complained that the Council failed to investigate and resolve serious damp and mould issues in her home. The Ombudsman was concerned about the amount of time Ms A had been in communication with the Council about her concerns, and that the matter remained unresolved.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to take action to address Ms A’s concerns, including appointing an external surveyor to carry out an independent damp inspection of her home and for the Council to carry out any identified repairs falling within its responsibility.
