Full decision

Mr A complained that Cardiff Council had failed to undertake an investigation into his reports of a potential statutory noise nuisance.

The Ombudsman found that the Council had failed to investigate the noise which caused additional frustration and uncertainty for Mr A. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without a formal investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to accept Mr A’s report and within four weeks, to write to Mr A to explain what the next steps would be in relation to how the report would be reviewed and investigated.
