The Ombudsman decided that the Council should take the following actions in settlement of Mr X’s complaint: Within 3 weeks of the decision: Provide a written apology to Mr X for the inconvenience suffered by the missed collections.

Provide written assurances to Mr X that this matter will be logged with the Collections Team Manager to ensure that every effort is made to collect the waste in future.

Make an agreement for the Collections Team Manager to regularly review this matter to ensure compliance with its collections policy.

The Ombudsman considered this to be an appropriate resolution to the complaint.
