Miss X complained that Cardiff Council missed multiple hygiene waste collections for her elderly Grandmother.
The Ombudsman decided that the Council should take the following actions in settlement of Miss X’s complaint: Within 3 weeks of the decision: (1) Provide a written apology to Miss X and her Grandmother for the inconvenience suffered by the missed hygiene waste collections.
(2) Provide written assurances to both Miss X and her Grandmother that this matter will be logged with the Collections Team Manager to ensure that every effort is made to collect the hygiene waste in future.
(3) Make an agreement for the Collections Team Manager to regularly review this matter to ensure compliance with its collections policy.
The Ombudsman considered this to be an appropriate resolution to the complaint.
