Recommendations
Recommendations (the sheriff's words)1. that the City of Edinburgh Council carries out an immediate audit of those buildings within the city thought to constitute a risk to public safety, insofar as such audit has not yet commenced, so that existing statutory powers to ensure proper standards of safety can be exercised; and
2.that the Council take appropriate steps to remind those responsible for the maintenance of older properties in Edinburgh of the risks to public safety if their property falls into disrepair and of any potential liabilities which they may have in this regard.
