In my view is essential that such reports are promptly filed in the patients medical records, and that a dated entry (perhaps by use of a stamp) indicating receipt of the report is made in the running clinical notes within the records, so that any doctor looking at the clinical notes will be alerted to the fact that the report has been received, and will be able then to look elsewhere in the records for the report itself.

It seems to me that that the system should ensure that such Medicare slips are reviewed by a doctor, who should decide upon any action to be taken.

They should also be promptly filed, and again there should be an entry, perhaps by stamp, made in the running clinical notes within the patients medical records, to alert any doctor looking at the clinical notes to the fact that there has been out of hours contact with the patient.

However, to any extent that they have not been attended to, it seems to me that they ought to be, as quickly as possible.
