William George Henderson and others (Airtours)
Recommendations
It is recommended in addition that the CAA should consider requiring that for a suitable period of time (whose duration they should determine) the result of each 200-hour inspection of the starter adapter and crankshaft gears in GTSIO-520 series engines (carried out under Critical Service Bulletin CSB94-4D or any subsequent edition thereof) should be reported to them, whether or not there has been any significant finding, in order to enable an assessment to be made of the still unquantified risk of gear failure occurring within a period of 200 hours from the last inspection; and that if necessary the 200-hour mandatory inspection requirement should then be reviewed and adjusted.
