Should the Chair be the designated person to represent the prisoner (if there is to be such a designated person)?

Independently of all staff seeking to make contact with/make friends with/care for prisoners, which seems to be accepted by all as necessary and good, if a prisoner is placed on timed Observations should there be a designated person to carry out such Observations, and should such a designated person have an obligation to record such Obligations when accomplished?

Should timed Observations for low risk prisoners be used less frequently since their use as prevention of self-harm decreases with the length between Observations, or would this just increase the numbers of those assessed as of high risk in order to obtain such Observations?

But if not, when an ambulance should be summoned should be considered, and the answer to that should be made clear to all those liable to respond to Code Blue Alarms. (i)Code Blue Alarm: Entrance Blocked.

But consideration should be given, if this has not already happened, to Code Blue procedure involving some measure which would result in the expected path of a summoned ambulance on reaching Cornton Value being kept clear of obstruction.
