I hope that early consideration will be given in the appropriate quarters to the operation of the present systems in place (1) for conveying requests to the appropriate prison for prisoners to be placed on protection in prison made by solicitors to the staff of the private security contractor in the custody suite at this court; and (2) for arranging consideration of requests made in the prison by prisoners to be placed on protection, in order that these requests might be considered and determined without delay.
Under section 28 of the 2016 Act, each recipient of a recommendation must respond within 8 weeks.
