Finland and Sweden’s accession to NATO provides an opportunity for the UK to deepen its already extensive defence co-operation with the Nordic states. The RAND Corporation suggested this could include deepening co-operation around common platforms, such as the F-35 combat aircraft or the P-8A maritime patrol aircraft. Increased intelligence sharing could also strengthen situational awareness in the region. 115
