Conclusion (the committee's words)
At the same time, the UK needs to prepare for the potential for significant change in the Arctic. The Arctic will remain a key strategic priority for Russia, and the UK needs to be able to play its part in guaranteeing the security of Finland (and Sweden) within the NATO Alliance. There is a high likelihood that the UK Government will need to give greater attention to the region in the future. In particular, it should consider whether it has invested sufficiently in relevant military assets to meet future as well as current deterrence needs .
