Conclusion
Our inquiry found that the UK has built strong relationships with the Arctic Seven and demonstrated it can make positive contributions in areas of shared interest: regional security, environmental protection, sustainable economic development, and polar science. The balance of evidence from our witnesses suggests that the UK has broadly set the right priorities for the Arctic, and that the UK is seen as playing a valuable role in the region. This provides a good basis on which to maintain and build relations with key allies.
