By providing greater leadership and clarity , the Government can provide confidence to the sector that the new towns will be delivered. This confidence in the programme will unlock investment in the domestic building materials sector. Increasing domestic capacity will in turn make national supply chains more resilient, and safeguard the delivery of major projects, including new towns .
