Recommendation 41

We heard from would-be long-duration energy storage project developers that connecting to the grid is a barrier that can prove fatal to projects. The Committee welcomes the recent announcement that Ofgem is reforming the queue to remove non-viable projects, as well as the reforms proposed in the Connection Action Plan. This will be critical to ensuring a pipeline of projects can be developed in time.
