Partly Agree 17. The UK was one of the first countries to pledge support to help to establish the new Fund for responding to Loss and Damage. Through our seat on the Fund’s Board, the UK will push for minimum allocations for the poorest and most vulnerable countries and communities, particularly for SIDS and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to ensure that they receive the support that they urgently need. UK representatives will push for ambitious financing for the Fund including by diversifying the funding base and exploring new and innovative sources of financing. The UK also recognises the need for highly concessional finance for interventions to address Loss and Damage.
