Government response. The government has noted the Migration Advisory Committee’s (MAC) recommendation that care workers’ inclusion on the shortage occupation list should not automatically expire after 12 months and commissioned the MAC to review the SOL.

Government response. The government states it has no plans to carry out a review into carer’s assessments, stating that CQC assessment of local authorities’ delivery of their Care Act responsibilities will show how effectively local authorities are supporting unpaid carers.
