Recommendation (the committee's words)
We heard that GPs struggle to access training on obesity due to a lack of protected continued professional development time. We acknowledge that GP training time is an issue that goes beyond obesity training and may have wider implications, so we recommend that the government explore options for giving GPs this protected time as part of future contact negotiations.
