Recommendation 14

We were disappointed to hear of the reduced support that NHS England is providing for social prescribing. This is directly impacting on the quality of related training and development for link workers. As part of the ongoing merger between NHS England and the Department, we recommend that the Department review and strengthen the support it provides for social prescribing. This should include ensuring the National Academy for Social Prescribing has the resources it needs to continue promoting best practice, supporting workforce development and acting as a national centre of expertise.
