Full decision

Miss B complained that Swansea Bay University Health Board failed to provide a response to her complaint, which she made to it in May 2025.

The Ombudsman found that whilst the Health Board had issued an apology for the delay, it had failed to provide a response to Miss B’s complaint at the time of her complaint to this office. She said that this caused frustration and uncertainty to Miss B. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to, within 2 weeks, issue a further apology for the delay, issue its complaint response and offer Miss B £75 redress in recognition of her time and trouble in making her complaint to the Ombudsman.
