Full decision

Mr X complained that Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board failed to fully address his concerns that the correct process was not followed when undertaking an MRI scan which may have impacted the results.

The Ombudsman found that the Health Board responded to Mr X’s complaint but it failed to address his concern that the dye had not been correctly administered. This caused additional frustration and uncertainty for Mr X. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to issue a further response, within 2 weeks, addressing the concern of the administration of the dye.
