Full decision

Ms A complained that the Health Board had not performed an angiogram with provocation testing to confirm or rule out a diagnosis of vasospastic angina, and that there was no clear management plan in place for her ongoing symptoms.

The Ombudsman found that there was no clear management plan for Ms A’s ongoing symptoms.

The Health Board agreed, within 1 month, to provide apologies to Ms A and to review her medical management. The Health Board also agreed, within 2 months, to refer Ms A to a specialist centre for consideration of coronary angiography with provocation testing, subject to the relevant approvals for funding and Ms A’s agreement, and to review her within the Health Board’s cardiology services, subject to her agreement.
