Full decision

Ms B complained about inpatient care and treatment provided to her husband in February 2025, in particular the management of his medication.

The assessment found that the complaint response did not adequately address the concerns raised or qualifying liability, further to Welsh Government guidance. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to, within 2 months, fully respond to Ms B’s outstanding concerns, including qualifying liability and offer an apology for not having done so previously.
