Full decision

Mrs X complained that Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board had agreed to respond to her further concerns following the investigation report, however, it failed to provide this response.

The Ombudsman found that the Health Board had failed to provide this final response to the complainant. The Ombudsman said this caused uncertainty and frustration for Mrs X. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to, within 6 weeks, provide the final response which will include an apology for the delay and an explanation as to why this happened.
