Mrs A complained that she was dissatisfied with Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council’s complaint handling.

The Ombudsman decided that although the Council had acknowledged Mrs A’s complaint, it had not provided a formal response. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise to Mrs A and to provide a response within 20 working days.
