Full decision

Miss J complained that she had not received a response from Flintshire County Council to a complaint she raised about flooding outside her home.

The Ombudsman found there had been a delay in responding to the complaint. She felt this caused additional frustration and inconvenience to Miss J. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to write to Miss J, within 2 weeks, apologising and explaining the reasons for the delay. Additionally, to undertake a site visit and to commit to responding to the complaint within 2 months.
