Full decision

Mr A complained about the Health Board’s response to his complaint about his hip pain. He said that following the complaint response, he had not received clarity about the timescales for his hip surgery.

The Ombudsman found that the Health Board had not formally responded to Mr A with confirmation of the current waiting time for surgery, together with Mr A’s current position on the waiting list.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to provide Mr A with an update the current waiting time for surgery, together with his current position on the waiting list, within 10 working days.
