Full decision

Miss F complained about Wrexham County Council’s handling of her complaint about children’s Social Services.

Whilst the Ombudsman acknowledged that further to its enquiries with the Council, it had provided an apology and explanation to Miss F for the poor level of service experienced, the Ombudsman decided that the Council had not issued a complaint response. She said that this caused frustration and uncertainty to Miss F. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to offer miss F redress of £125 and issue a complaint response within 4 weeks.
