Full decision

Mr Z complained that Bridgend County Borough Council had decided to suspend his landlord’s improvement notice which meant his repairs would not be completed until after he had been evicted.

The Ombudsman found that Mr Z had complained to the Council but the Council had failed to formally respond to his concerns. The Ombudsman decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to apologise to Mr Z for failing to respond to his complaint and provide him with a complaint response within 4 weeks.
