Mr and Mrs L complained that Aneurin Beavan UniversityHealth Board failed to issue its final report following a Serious Incident Investigation,despite raising concerns in April 2022.

The Ombudsman concluded that the Health Board had failed toprovide regular and meaningful updates to Mr and Mrs L and had failed to complywith its statutory complaint’s procedure. She said that this caused distress toMr and Mrs L. it As an alternative to an investigation, The Ombudsman sought and gained the Health Board’s agreement to apologise to Mr and Mrs L, pay them redress of £50, and provide a complaint response within30 working days.
