Full decision

Mr X complained that the Council had not provided him with a response to the complaint he submitted to it in June 2022.

The Ombudsman decided that there had been a delay in the Council’s complaint response, which led Mr X to contact the Ombudsman. She decided to settle the complaint without an investigation.

The Ombudsman sought and gained the Council’s agreement to issue its complaint response and apologise for the delay. It also agreed to pay Mr X redress of £100 in recognition of the time and trouble he had expended.
