Services for vulnerable adults (eg with learning difficulties. or with mental health issues) : Hywel Dda University Health Board Report Date 01/07/2022 Case Against Hywel Dda University Health Board Subject Services for vulnerable adults (eg with learning difficulties. or with mental health issues) Case Reference Number 202108690 Outcome Early resolution Ms X complained, via her advocate, that the Health Board had not properly implemented the care she had been assessed as needing because of a dispute between the Health Board and the Council about funding the provision. She also complained that the Health Board had failed to respond to her complaint to it.
The Ombudsman was concerned to note the unacceptable delay in providing the assessed level of care for Ms X, and its failure to respond to her complaint about this.
Following the complaint, the Health Board: • Provided a formal response to Ms X’s complaint.
• Confirmed the agreed level of care provision to Ms X and is taking steps to implement this.
• Agreed to update the Ombudsman about the progress in providing the care as agreed by 31 July 2022.
