Full decision

Mr B complained that Swansea Bay University Health Board failed to diagnose his Spigelian hernia in a timely manner and this led to a delay in the procedure carried out.

The investigation was discontinued as Mr B was given a date for the procedure which he felt offered some resolution of his complaint. The Ombudsman, having taken into account what Mr B had to say and the available evidence concluded that the investigation should be discontinued as it would not be proportionate to continue the investigation.
