Ms X complained about the Council’s handling of her child’s Education, Health and Care Plan and failures in reviewing it. We found the Council at fault for delays, poor communication and not maintaining appropriate oversight of her child’s home education. This caused significant frustration, distress and uncertainty. The Council agreed to apologise, make a symbolic payment to recognise the injustice caused, and take action to prevent future recurrence of fault.
