Mr X complains about misinformation provided by the Council.

The Ombudsman’s role and powers

We investigate complaints about councils and certain other bodies. We cannot investigate the actions of bodies such as the Information Commissioner’s Office. (Local Government Act 1974, sections 25 and 34A, as amended)

My assessment

Mr X says that the Council delayed providing information he sought regarding a planning matter. He says that the information provided is inaccurate.

Any dispute about what information can and should be provided to members of the public are matters for the Information Commissioner’s Office.
