There will obviously be situations in which it will be inappropriate to weigh a patient due to that patient's condition but in that situation consideration should be given to obtaining the weight from another source, such as earlier hospital records or by reference to the G.P..
I question therefore whether the steps already taken by Fife Health Board go far enough towards ensuring that an accurate weight is used for prescription purposes where prescription is dependant upon weight and urge them to give further consideration to this aspect of matters.
