Recommendation (the Committee's words)
Power should be taken to set a higher maximum permitted limit for a parliamentary candidate’s expenditure at a by-election. A sum in the order of £100,000 seems appropriate to the Committee, but the Government should establish the figure after appropriate consultation. (p 112)
