of the defence industrial base. As set out in the DIS, existing data on the defence sector is limited due to the challenges in defining the sector and the dual-use nature of many firms making it difficult to understand and monitor change across the sector. To strengthen the quality and reliability of this data, we will work closely with the Office of National Statistics and the Competition and Markets reviews of the health of the defence market. The DIS also sets out a broad range of data points which will be used to monitor economic impact and performance. These will be reported on within existing governance frameworks including at Ministerial level by the Defence Industrial Joint Council, the Defence Growth Board and Growth Mission Board.
