Conclusion
Economic activity in the Arctic is centred on fishing, marine transport, tourism, oil and gas, and other mineral extraction. The Arctic also plays an increasingly important role in the communication sector, as the region is the most efficient location to receive data from satellites in a polar orbit. 204 The region has the potential to become a significant source of critical minerals needed to produce battery cells and other components for the green transition. 205
