Conclusion
We recognise that Norway has a comprehensive framework in place to respond to an oil spill emergency. Nonetheless, the UK Government should continue to press for high environmental standards and the protection of the Arctic marine environment by contributing to the scientific research and through continued participation in the work of the Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment (PAME ) Working Group at the Arctic Council.
