HM Government Accepted
The Government recognises the potential impacts of night-time and shift work. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) provides guidance on its website concerning night work, as well as shift work, including advising on the health and safety risks and measures that employers should consider to control those risks. This includes fatigue. HSE also has regulatory responsibilities in this area, where there is a risk of a breach of health and safety law. The Government has no current plans to commission a specific investigation into the health and safety implications of night-time working.
