Recommendation (the committee's words)
We welcome the new COVID-19 exemption to the rules around permitted absences; without this, an unknown number of EU citizens could have rendered themselves ineligible for full settled status by leaving or being prevented from travelling to the UK during the pandemic. We urge the Government to publicise these changes as widely as possible.
