Select committee: European Affairs Committee

Recommendation 21

1st Report - Citizens’ Rights Published 23 Jul 2021 Paragraph 133
Recommendation (the committee's words)
We are concerned, however, that current guidance suggests the “benefit of any doubt” approach may only be temporary. We call on the Government to provide greater clarity on how long this approach will last, and to consider a commitment to continuing it on a longer-term basis. The “benefit of any doubt” approach is yet to be tested, and we will keep these matters under close scrutiny.
