Recommendation (the committee's words)
While we welcome bilateral and minilateral defence initiatives involving the UK and European partners, such as the Global Combat Air Programme, in our view the Government should also reinforce its efforts to engage with procurement projects linked to the European Defence Fund. We urge the Government to press the case with the EU for changes to third-party rules that would facilitate greater UK engagement. We ask the Government to provide us with an update on the steps that it has taken to address this issue in its response to this report.
