Recommendation 6

We have received evidence indicating that some minor differences between UK and EU sanctions regimes have been justified in the context of the sanctions introduced since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We note that, as a country outside the EU, the UK has the freedom to align its sanctions policy with the US, which can sometimes be more hawkish on sanctions than the EU.
